Class 5 - Summer 2025 - Roll Up! Roll Up!

Year 5's Circus Adventure at Copsegrove Farm! 🎪

Last week, Year 5 had the most spectacular time on our circus-themed trip to Copsegrove Farm – and what an adventure it was! From the moment we arrived, there was a real buzz of excitement in the air, and we couldn’t wait to get stuck into all the activities.

We started with a tightrope walking challenge, carefully balancing our way across the line like real circus performers. It took focus, determination, and a lot of cheering each other on! Next, we let our creativity shine as we sculpted clown faces out of clay, adding wild hairstyles and wacky expressions – each one as unique as its creator.

Throughout the day, we also enjoyed some delicious treats: gooey s’mores toasted over the fire and popcorn popped fresh in the open air. These snacks definitely helped fuel us for the rest of our exciting challenges.

One of the highlights was the “Walk of Trust,” where we had to guide blindfolded friends through a winding trail – it really made us think about teamwork and communication. The tennis ball challenge had us problem-solving together, working out how to transport a ball across obstacles without using our hands!

It was a day filled with laughter, learning and friendship. A huge thank you to everyone at Copsegrove Farm for giving us such a magical experience – the Year 5 Circus is one we’ll never forget! 🎉

Bikeability Adventures Begin for Year 5!

This week, lots of our enthusiastic Year 5 children took part in Stage One of Bikeability – an exciting programme designed to teach essential cycling skills and road safety awareness.

The children did a fantastic job learning how to control and manoeuvre their bikes safely in the school playground. They practised starting and stopping with control, checking for hazards, using hand signals, and developing their balance and coordination. The instructors were really impressed with their focus and determination!

Next week they will move on to Stage Two, where they'll have the chance to explore Bussage and put their new skills into practice on quiet local roads. Everyone is really looking forward to the adventure and we can’t wait to see how their confidence continues to grow.

Well done, Year 5 – you're well on your way to becoming safe, skilled cyclists!
